SOMEHOW THE WORKS JESUS TOLD US TO DO GOT REVISED?

THEY WERE JUST CHANGED, AND NO ONE SEEMS AWARE OF IT, OR EVEN CONCERNED.

I AM UNWILLING TO WAIT ANOTHER 100 YEAR TO DO WHAT 2000 YEARS AGO JESUS TOLD US TO DO; AND THAT WAS NOT TO JUST GO AND PREACH THE GOSPEL, BECAUSE THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD BUT IN POWER: AND THAT POWER IS JESUS WITHOUT WHOM WE HAVE ONLY THE APPEARANCE, OR JUST ANOTHER FORM OF GODLINESS.

The “works of God” that Jesus told us to do are the works of God because they are accomplished by the demonstration of the spirit and power of God; works of altruistic humanism that Atheists do are accomplished under man’s steam, and are different. For clarity simply reference the mighty works of Jesus in his 3 years of ministry, which is what God is asking us to continue forasmuch as Jesus’ life is continued in us. Saul lost his kingdom when he received clear instructions about what to do about the Amalekite who tried to ambush Israel as they left Egyptian bondage to find refuge in a new home. In spite of the fact that Saul knew what the clear instructions given him were, he modified it to be more consistent with what was obviously more reasonable. Today Pastors knew exactly what Jesus did in ministry, and know also that Jesus told us to duplicate those work of God, but we have changed it to be more consistent with what is obviously more reasonably altruistic humanism that atheists can do as well without the power of God displayed as a witness for men to see. Regardless if the world believes or not, they should have the benefit of that witness of God's works to consider. These signs are to follow us as the credentials of our faith, and as a sampling of the powers of the world to come in the kingdom of God that is near to them.....at the very threshold of breaking forth upon this world. That kingdom is in power not word.

Just right before Martin Luther published the “Just shall live by his faith”; how long do you suppose those people lived under the prevailing order of things. Before the ground-breaking revival at the turn of the 20th century; again, just how long do you suppose people lived in error under that spiritually static mode of life. The book of Acts is still being written and people are still awaking to, not so much new truths, as they are an acknowledgment of old truths that have been written of old times. The Just shall live by faith was not new, just newly acknowledged. That is the fundamental of any revival, ….an acknowledgment of bedrock truths that have been forgotten.

Jesus made it a point of choosing his disciples from among the societies most unlikely group to make the point that no special qualifications are required to do what he does; only believe. When a person becomes a “believer” they are spoon fed by leaders. That’s the beginning of troubles. If you are taught by human leaders you learn humanism; and take that approach to the kingdom of God to no avail. The leaders didn’t make it and you being taught by them won’t make it either. Martin Luther said we are not only responsible for what we say, but also for what we do not say. What will never be heard coming out of the mouths of any of those who lead, is anything that purports to what Jesus expects of they that believe him. Why should they tell it to new believers when they themselves as leaders do not believe it. Paul referenced the prophets who said: I believe, therefore have I spoken; and indeed we also believe and do speak. If people are to speak about what they believe, then our silence on these things speak volumes about our unbelief. Leaders deny it and omit it from their offerings of services to a needy world, and God cries against the leaders saying my pastors have healed the hurt of the children of my people slightly saying peace peace, where God insists that there is no peace made with afflictions of sin, sickness, disease, death, but as spirits they are utterly ruined in defeat by Jesus who triumphed gloriously over them trampling them under foot in an open show of three years in his ministry.

Non-Christians can do development work, be competent counselors, and run successful service programs. If we claim to have the very Spirit of God within us, shouldn’t we be able to offer something distinct from altruistic atheists?

A DIVIDE TOO GREAT TO CROSS: THE GREAT CHURCH FAULT.

A fault too big to fix. There is a monumental seismic shift from the marked character of the Jesus' ministry to works of altruistic humanism done today by church leaders who call such works "the works of God". Today everyone is busy making disciples but nobody is a disciple of Jesus in the ministry that he demonstrated across his 3 years on earth, and then told us to do the same and even greater things. Disciples should be as there masters but there is an open and I might say bogus acknowledgment that nobody can be like Jesus.....HELLO!! Talk about the missing link of the power of God between Jesus and we who profess to be his disciples. If disciples cannot be as their masters...as they should, they will continue making disciples after themselves; all new converts will be made like themselves instead of the masters image. Jesus warned of this; where leaders do not enter into the kingdom of God, but cross land and sea to evangelize, and make the new converts twice the child of hell as they.

Jesus had 12 disciples and at one time sent 70 others out to minister with instruction to heal the sick that they encountered and tell them that the kingdom of God is near them. It is near them because that kingdom is not in word, but the power that just healed them: a sample of the power of the kingdom that is near to come. If we do not demonstrate the power of God what kind of message can we possibly have to declare? If you were to check you would find that everyone of them did what Jesus himself did, and told them to do. When he told us to go made disciples of men, the assumption was taken for granted that the men making disciples would have been men who did what did. Today everyone is making disciples but nobody is a disciple of Jesus in the ministry that he demonstrated across his 3 years on earth and told us to do the same and greater things.

Where we are instructed to go and heal those we encounter in the way, and tell them that the kingdom of God is near; Jesus is having us pass out samples of the power of the world to come. Today however with the singular exception of salvation, we put off everything of the kingdom God that is given, deferring them to a future time, and a world that is to come, and only offer words as comfort to a suffering world. Jesus clearly sent message to John before he was executed saying: tell John the gospel is preached to the poor, and the dead like Lazarus are raised (to the comfort of they who would have suffered that loss). Jesus himself said: that you may be assured of sins forgiven, I say to the sick of the palsy; arise and be made whole. Demonstrated power witnesses of the kingdom of God that is to come, not words.

If you were one of Israel’s children, you moved into Canaan which God gave by promised to Abraham. God says it is his good pleasure to give us his kingdom. He has given to us everything in heaven and earth. We are supposed to be now occupying this planet by enforcing the rule of the world to come now in this world, till that world come. It is supposed to flow outward from within us. There is supposed to be this sampling of it, and then later the actual permanent physical bringing in of that kingdom when Jesus returns.

How is it that the kingdom is hidden in us when it is plainly declared to be in us? Well you have to be saved to go to heaven, but you can still be saved and not be able to operate in or “enter into” the kingdom of heaven. There is the kingdom of heaven occupation force that heralds to the world, telling of that permanent kingdom of heaven that is soon to come, replacing the default fallen order of things. For now though, it is about occupying by means of the powers of that world to come till Jesus returns, or till you go to him. Drawing on powers of the coming kingdom to enforce the principles of that world now before it comes is what we are told to do. You have to be led into that capacity of ministry by the Spirit of God; it is not something you can go read up on and then follow ten steps and you are there. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and know it. If you cannot discern God’s leading by his Spirit you cannot be led into that kingdom (sphere of operation).

We are called to operate on credit of the world to come, doing the mighty works of Jesus and even greater works. Arguably the only thing the church has gotten right is the message of saving faith in Christ through grace, and that is courtesy of the Martin Luther’s reformation efforts. Apart from saving faith, because church leadership proceed on a false premise, almost every argument they offer in apologetics is fundamentally flawed and cannot produce the mighty works of Jesus any more than you might have found someone walking by faith before Luther published the “Just must live by faith” proclamation for the world to wake up to it. No sooner than you start speaking like a true son of God, these leaders rise up…Bible in hand to condemn your soul to hell as a heretic, much like Luther or Tyndale might have witnessed who were either violently murdered or brought within inches of their lives. Paul said concerning this Jesus who we are now supposed to be and no more ourselves: there are many thing to be said, but hard to be spoken because dull of hearing, people do not wake up easily.

If you are led by human leaders, they will lead you into humanism. This kingdom is kept guarded by the powers of that same world. Where the kingdom is spoken of plainly, there are also other utterances that when you will read them, they will turn you aside unless you are led by the spirit of boldness in sons of God. That’s why today church leaders quibble: we don’t know how to do these things that Jesus did, we don’t even think they are for us to do them, because they were only done by Jesus as a one-time showcasing of things that are coming. An uglier lie that ever crawled out form the pit of hell never got sight of daylight. This is the kingdom of power that we inherit whereas before us Israel inherited and entered into Canaan. Somehow we cannot seem to find our way into operating in this kingdom of power given us to inherit so we have covered it with lies and excuses to save our human face. Because church leaders operate under false premise, almost every argument they offer in apolagetics is either false, or irrelevant.

It is impossible for the eye to see what the mind is not prepared to conceive. If we don't have the mind of Christ, we cannot see the things of God. If you are not looking for it, you are not going to see it. Without the mind engaged to see; the eye may very well look, but never recognize it. Ever blew right through a red light before you recognized what you did, and then afterwords in shock you thought ….OMG! Well you did see the red light, you just did not recognize it at the time you blew through it, because your mind was otherwise occupied. God says the eyes of man have not seen, nor ears heard, nor his heart understood the things that he has prepared for the ways, and the thoughts of the new man that we are supposed have, and to be in Christ because, that mind of Christ by which they are recognized had not yet given to men until the fullness of time came 2000 years ago.

CONCERNING THE SINGS THAT ARE TO FOLLOW BELIEVERS, THEY ARE NOT FOR BELIEVERS, BUT FOR UNBELIEVERS TO SEE THEM AS A WITNESS OF THE POWERS OF THE WORK TO COME IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD WHETHER OR NOT THEY BELIEVE THEM. IF WE SAY WE ARE SONS OF GOD, YET HAVE NO SINGS ATTESTING TO THAT CONFESSION, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES.

Ever blew through a traffic light without seeing it? We've been doing something similar in ministry for almost 2000 years.

If you convinced yourself you’re already doing the works of God, even though such works of human efforts were so missing the mark, in spite of that, you are not going to give it a second thought cause you’re so sure you are already doing what you are supposed to be doing. How could you be so sure? Cause that’s what your were taught, and that’s what everyone else does who are supposed to be doing these things. That’s why you are so sure that you are right. THE POWER OF GOD CANNOT BE TAUGHT… ONLY DEMONSTRATED, SO YOU WOULD NOT HAVE LEARNED IT ALONG WITH OTHER THINGS LEARNED: FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD BUT IN HIS POWER DEMONSTRATED. THE WORKS OF GOD IS THE PERSON OF JESUS SHOWING UP AS MIRACLES. THEY ARE THE SIGNS THAT FOLLOW OUR PREPARING HIS WAY FOR HIS COMING AS SUCH MIRACLES BY OUR CONFESSION FOR HIM TO SHOW UP AS SUCH MIRACLES. BECAUSE WE HAVE KEPT SILENT ABOUT THESE SIGNS, WE SEE NO MORE OUR SIGNS. Before Herod executed John, Jesus said go tell John that the gospel is preached, and the dead are raised. We preach the gospel well enough, but forget all about the sings. No one speaks of raising the dead seriously. How many times throughout history have most of the people been wrong before? You just are not able to learn what you think you already know even if the demonstrable facts point to the contrary you are just going to keep going.

ABOUT: Purpose Restated

There are grave and troubling indications that we embrace false assumptions, and hotly pursue misdirections set in motion long before our time; and we do so with a baffling cheerful indifference. Actually it really isn’t so funny the way things work, where if you keep doing the same thing, you wind up with the same result. Spending several decades sitting in services, bible studies, church functions, and observing the goings on, I have always found the stark disconnect between the church model in the Bible, and what we practice to be most unsettling. I don’t mean just the obvious instances of moral lapses, but even where the church considers itself to be on “high five” footing; In the worldwide church culture, even more puzzling than a gaping disconnect between expectation and reality, is a pervasive lemming-like mentality that assures this tainted culture an uninterrupted life in perpetuity. Nobody seems to even wonder at the disparity between what is written for us, and what we experience. It’s the kind of resigned indifference that says why think about it if it cannot be; so no one thinks about it long enough to effect any change.

These posts are not arbitrary topical ramblings, but purpose specific. Their purpose is to establish on record the unfolding of a narrowly focused point of development; a sort of bread crumbs trail that culminates in the waking of the proverbial the sleeping giant.

We are the image of the living God. Not just a still image; but a live action image mirroring whatsoever God is doing in real-time. Whatsoever I see my Father do; likewise do I the same, said Jesus. That’s what an image does, it imitates the source. God is the source not just of our appearance, but also of actions which go well beyond what is possible with the ordinary manner of men.

The purpose, simply stated is: to have the days of Jesus’ ministry in all its dimensions revisit the wayward Church, where the church is to play this defined role in the ministry of reconciliation. In all fairness, I don’t think it serves any meaningful purpose for me to gratuitously level wide-ranging criticism without committing myself by way of being an example in the reconciliation ministry of the power of God demonstrated to deliver. I anticipate therefore that as in the Azusa Street tradition; as we acknowledge these truths in common, God will begin to show himself  consistent with his promise to show us these things that he is doing right now. As we do this reconciliation ministry mighty works of the Lord Jesus I have targeted a goal where a minimum of 4.5 billion souls (3/4 of the world’s population) are to be reconciled with God through this ministry of reconciliation which God began in Jesus, and passed on to us to continue in the same tradition as Chris did. Things that are not possible with man are possible with God. His church is worthy of this. God will do more than we’ve have asked.” Joseph had a powerful dream which he could have kept hidden, cause I think he knew what it meant. The sun, moon, and stars were bowing down to him. He told his dad, and his dad didn’t beat him down; his dad said, you know son, I think you’re ok. God gives the power to dream, and the mind of Christ to know what is given to us, and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it. God has given to us all things, it depends on how much of it we desire to receive: all things are given to us, and are ours; whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours, and we are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s. The world is included in the things that are given to us. Take it or walk away.

Here is what Jesus had to say about the mighty works that he accomplished; which by design now implicates us in God's plan for us to do the same things Jesus did. He said: I can do nothing of myself any more than any of you can. All the things I did were not done of myself, so I have no special advantage over you, but all things were done by my Father who is always doing these things. All the things I saw my Father doing, I did them likewise....I imitate, or mirror him for I am his image, as are you all his image. If you believe in him, believe in me; for I who am with you, soon will be in you. My Father will show you likewise all these things, and you can do them too.

That is frankly the inescapable reality for the church, where the church holds true to form. As an instructive undertaking to help us clearly see, and learn form our past missteps, these posts selectively highlight throughout history the infidelity of the Church to it’s true purpose. The intent then is point out the solution, act upon it, and enter into this awakening of a sleeping giant.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Every now and again you see Archaeologists, and Anthropologists attempting to recreate some staggering feat of human achievement from the ancient world with modern technology and little success. You can’t help but to be animated with the assurance of success here when you consider what Jesus himself had to say about how the mighty works he did was accomplished. When people want to back away from this challenge the first thing they throw out is: you have to be so holy that you are made of the gossamer translucency of angels. Fact is God purposefully called people fraught with foibles of imperfections declaring: Elijah was a man of like passions as we all yet by praying he stopped the heavens from raining three and a half years. Let those that are perfect be thus minded; God is more interested in your particular leaning than what you have done. If your leaning is toward him, your present and future actions will bear that out—where the tree leans, that’s where it will fall. It’s usually a matter of the degree of our leaning that makes the difference. Peter being often reproved was not the poster boy for perfection, but he did walk on water; to date, no other human can boast that.

I happen to have purchased this DVD of “The Elegant Universe”, a PBS Nova  presentation which contains this segment called the Quantum Café after viewing the broadcast a couple of years ago. I was surprised to find it presented in short segments on YouTube and introduced by a some unfamiliar “religious” entity.

All the miracles that Jesus did are actually built into the fabric of  our universe when seen at the scale of sub-atomic particles that are invisible to us, and are not detectable at the ratio of our one to one human scale.

People don’t lay foundation for a house at one place, and build the house at some other place. The foundations for our lives are laid heavily in the stock, and bonds of the parameters of human limitations; and we build upon that all actionable, and perceived reality. Anything falling outside the pale of those parameters, is therefore not real, and we don’t act upon them. Actions are a direct outgrowth of our thought life. We don’t seriously think about, and therefore with equally corresponding regularity are never walking upon water, talking to storms, or trees, or calling dead people back to life. God does that. Well if that’s true why is he expecting us not only to do these, but greater things.

Here is what Jesus had to say about the mighty works that he accomplished; which by design now implicates us in God’s plan for us to do the same things Jesus did. He said: I can do nothing of myself any more than any of you can. All the things I did were not done of myself, so I have no special advantage over you, but all things were done by my Father who is always doing these things. All the things I saw my Father doing, I did them likewise….I imitate, or mirror him for I am his image, as are you all his image. If you believe in him, believe in me; for I am with you soon will be in you. My Father will show you likewise all these things, and you can do them too.

God is huge; what he proposes for us is huge. In fact the analogy by comparison is likened to how the moon doesn’t shine beside the glory of the sun. So great is what God plans to do today as compared to times before Christ. The two examples cannot be mentioned in the same breath, or set in the same light

To the extent that there is even the slightest acknowledgment by the church’s talking heads of this promise given by God; the feckless, appalling excuses that are given to explain this vapid state of church life just falls like so many led balloons to me…and there are many such excuses.

Even When it is Manifested, We Often Don’t Recognize What We Are Not Anticipating or Willing to See.

Instead of looking to God, the rock of divinity form which we were hewn, whose attributes define us, we keep looking to the pit of humanity from whence we were digged. Since we are the reflected image of God, whatever we are, is to be defined by what God is; If we want to know what we are we need to first know what God is, because what we reflect of him defines us.

We worship on the mountain, but serve in the groves. We may think about God, but that’s a theoretical exercise on distant mountains. We act, and live in the groves of human weaknesses that has nothing to do with God. Instead of looking to God, the rock of divinity form which we were hewn, whose attributes define us, we keep looking to the pit of humanity from whence we were dug. Since we are the reflected image of God, whatever we are, is to be defined by what God is.

How aware of what you are seeing are you. Test your awareness!

If we want to know what we are, we need to first know what God is, because what we reflect of him defines us. All that we are is of whatever God is. A mirror can only reflect what is set in front of it. To that end God has given us his mind, nature, divinity, spirit, power, kingdom, glory, name; in fact all those things to which God answers as God is given to us to give the same answer, yet God says no man lays this to heart. No man considers this. We are not only responsible for what we say but what we do not say; and the church do not say these things. Accordingly as we believe, we are suppose to speak these things; but these things are not spoken of because they are not believed.

I AM UNWILLING TO WAIT ANOTHER 100 YEAR TO DO WHAT 2000 YEARS AGO JESUS TOLD US TO DO; AND THAT WAS NOT TO JUST GO AND PREACH THE GOSPEL, BECAUSE THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD BUT IN POWER: AND THAT POWER IS JESUS WITHOUT WHOM WE HAVE ONLY THE APPEARANCE, OR JUST ANOTHER FORM OF GODLINESS

“Every man must do two things alone; he must do his own believing and his own dying.”—Martin Luther

We cannot allow men to believe for us or to speak for us. God has no grandchildren; we must interact directly with him and learn first hand for ourselves the truth by the spirit of truth sent by the Father to lead us into all truth.

  1. Wow!!
Tony this Blogpress vehicle suites you well.
This forum is wonderfully done and thought out; I am very impressed.
( Can I consult you out to do my blog :)…just kidding. NOT!!)

I welcome the challenge of walking out this journey of exploring the outer perimeters of the box and kicking off learned helplessness. I would love the church to wake up and BE as you paint the picture of what it means to BE.

Although important , my concern is that this only becomes an exercise in navel gazing. That your words only highlights the state of the church; where we are, not the how we need to get there.

Chuck Colson ask the question in his book, “How now shall we live”. This question comes up often in the back of my mind when I read your blogs. We do not disagree with the “What” it should look like, its the “How” part that seems to have many opinions. Your ponderings leave a longing in me that we are not there as a church body. However I do not believe that simple confession of Words alone address your issue.
I do believe that Salvation is by Grace alone, not of works. We are saved positional, declaratively and actually. However a church body full of toddlers and a church body filled with meat eating believers look different although everyone is saved.

As church we do not yet know how to heal the hurt , how to restore the shame, how to quell the rebellion, how to forgive when it is hard, how to be bring the light to the darkness of our lives let alone to the darkness in other peoples lives. We only work with the language of change; what we should do, not the language of Transformation.
The reason why we do not have the supernatural working though us is becuase we do not have the supernatural yet in us in places where true transformation happens. Galatians 4:1 states, Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all…

Again, I welcome the challenge of walking out this journey of exploring.
But I also think that we are where we are as a church becuase there may areas yet to be surendered in us.

    Ron

    • Greetings Senor,…..The Right Honorable Ron. Allow me to recover from swooning under the weight of this great honor. Your compliments are well received with many thanks, and reflect only your excellent taste. I really appreciate your joining this forum.

I hasten to the point, but let me be the first to say, before I say anymore that, in answer to the points raised, at times my words may appear sharp, perhaps alienating, or even condescending. It is not my intent to be so, or seem so. I say this just on the off chance that they are perceived to be just that. If they appear so, I offer my apologies.

I stripped and reseeded my lawn 5 days ago. This morning I went to see if there was any new growth. There was not even the slightest hint of growth. I could say it didn’t work, cause I didn’t see anything; but I’m pretty sure four days hence I will doubtless see new blades of grass springing up. If you don’t plant corn, you can’t have corn coming up; and even sometimes when you do, you still won’t see it until the appointed time—God chooses when to make it grow…our job is to plant. When you made the confession, you have to know what you are up against, or you will have opportunity to turn back from your confessions: ……..
You’ll experience the Emmaus road—‘we all thought he was that great prophet that was to deliver us but’…
There will be the Jonn Baptist moment—‘are you the one, or should we look for another’….
He will promise to come and heal, but instead Lazarus is going to die….
Peter is going to go back to fishing because it’s not working out— “I go a fishing”.

      The same formula that started our life is the same that is to perfect us. We are made of the word of God which is needed to complete us—not just to lay the foundation of our salvation. You can’t have a house of bricks if you don’t supply the bricks. If I have said that salvation is other than by grace alone without works I am willing to make necessary clarification; I could make the case that {Yea, a man may say , Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?}

The mechanism that is in play keeping parts of our live un-surrendered is a function of the very sensory endowment that allows us to access values and make value based decisions. Because Church leadership hold in suppression as heresy the very offerings of God’s divinity to mankind; man then looks inside and sees a God size vacuum. He then does the math, and disparity of the values within him, and that which is off limits to him in God; according to clergy becomes evident. The man is no fool, …….well he is an unwitting fool because he chooses the value that is accessible to him in the flesh. Hence he is made twice the child of hell as they that descipled him, and will themselves not enter that kingdom of God’s divinity where they are to exercise dominion, and be no more children.

Ron, the solution actually does work, or should I say it doesn’t work. That’s right, it doesn’t word. That’s what you are up against; otherwise everybody would get in. By all appearance it will look like it doesn’t work….feel like it doesn’t work. That’s going to throw off all those who are not ready to press with force and with furtive, violent resolve. It is not for the casual gatecrasher. You will appear before unjust judge, and have issued to you your invitation to relinquish your hold on the promise you seek by your confession. The unjust judge will say to you “release me”. Your reply must be as Jacob’s I will not,….. not until you bless me. God is going to invite you by fiery trials to release him form his promise to you. There is no backing up. You have to do the math. If God cannot lie, and he has declared the proposition; then heaven and earth must pass away before that word fails. The challenge then falls to you, and I to prove him through violent resolve.

There is only one place for the supernatural to dwell in us. That is in our spirits. If the word which from the beginning is God dwells richly within you, the supernatural is already dwelling in you in the important place. The key is to let the supernatural out by confession for the kingdom of god comes not from outside but from within us. What a man thinks in his heart so is he.

  2. Ok can someone please direct me to the blog for the unlearned or those of us suffering from shrinking of the brain? not sure what category I fit into, maybe both. While I thoroughly enjoyed the discourse, I missed the moonwalking bear TWICE. Follow my drift? Hopefully my drift isn’t too far from where God’s wind is blowing because all I desire is to be where He is. This was time consuming yet fun and enlightening! I will be back! Donna J

  3. Well done. God speed on your quest!

  4. I think if we all develop in our relationship with God as He intends, we reach the point where we stop depending on the church as an institution and a doctrine and start seeking our discipleship with Jesus. We look at our lives, what God requires of us as being created in His living image, and then recognize the “mission drift” we have been experiencing as Christians. After that, we can either choose to remain in the comfort zone of what we’ve been taught or we can take the risk of following our Teacher and Master where he has gone, doing what he did, and walking in the footsteps of the disciples of old. It’s a path that takes us on a lifelong journey to discover God, who we are in Him, and who He is in us. If we stay on the path and remain faithful, the results should be obvious.
