There seems to be a little bit of th wolf in all of us. God is our shepherd, does that mean he leads wolves too?

THE WOLF WITHIN: WHERE’S IT COMING FROM?

BEFORE WE CAME TO THE LORD; YOU KNOW…BACK IN THE DAY. WE WERE PRETTY MUCH ALL WOLVES, WEREN’T WE. PAUL SAID HE WAS CHIEF AMONG SINNERS; SOME SAY WHEN THEY WERE SINNERS, THEY DIDN’T THINK ABOUT THINGS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. NOW THAT WE’VE COME TO THE LORD, WE ARE AGAINST THE THINGS WE USED TO DO; DOES THAT MAKES US SORT OF LIKE (ANTI-WOLVES) MORE THAN SHEEP?

SNIPER KITTY? COME-ON, YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE. You drive through traffic and a seat belt may keep you safe in an accident, but what is going to restrain you from jumping out of your car, and throttling that Philistine of a rude inconsiderate driver in front of you.

I know the Lord is our shepherd; but you have to wonder: does he lead wolves too? Sheep and wolf mentality have two very different natures; one generally is known to eat, and the other gets eaten: one is obedient and the other a rebel. No hazard guessing which is which here. As believers we like to think we are the sheep; but you have to wonder why we encounter so much of the wolf artifacts in us. Aren’t sheep supposed to think one way, and wolves another. That would make it so much less confusing. The truth is we may not actually be sheep; we may actually in reality be wolves……well, not really wolves either, but anti-wolves. We all started out as wolves before we came to Christ, but the point is we are supposed to become less and less wolves, and more and more sheep. We are supposed to go against the wolf in us….be anti-wolves.

THE TRUTH IS WE MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE SHEEP; WE MAY ACTUALLY IN REALITY BE WOLVES……WELL, NOT REALLY WOLVES EITHER, BUT ANTI-WOLVES.

Sheep or wold....which is the real you?

So much of what happens in the church is just a lot of moving the old furniture around and reinventing ourselves.

As our shepherd, it is the Lord who does the necessary work within us to cause this transformation; that makes us his workmanship. God desires to be the love that shows up in us after we have spent our supply of love, and there shouldn’t be any more love left there in us. Believers are supposed to be sheep, but the divorce rate is going through the roof even among Christian demographics, the institution of marriage seems on the blink, and the hearts of many seem to have waxed cold as lawlessness abound. So is the wolf in us winning the day where the Lord is our shepherd?

As believers, we can rest assured that Jesus, our shepherd knows how to bring forth a brand new thing out of the old, so we don't have to re-invent ourselves

Jesus wants to be that patience that is still there when all evidence of our known patience has been totally evaporated. You drive through traffic and a seat belt may keep you safe in an accident, but what is going to restrain you from jumping out of your car, and throttling that Philistine of a rude inconsiderate driver in front of you.

As our shepherd Jesus seems to lead us into situations that are just the opposite of what we say we want simply to expose that wolf in us so it can be addressed. If we remain risk averse and do not like trouble, well we might wind up fighting the process much of the time and find little progress resolving the wolf within as Jesus tries to lead us. In case no one bothered to look lately, the green pastures to which he leads us it right there it death valley; and the table prepared for us is in plain line of sight of our enemies.
