MAN: After Our Kind

Do not adjust your screen. This creature is a liger, a cross between a lion and a tiger. Man wants to reinvent himself in some other image than his original mandate image. God says in that case man is simply turning things upside-down. Let alone, these animals bring forth after their kind. God creates man after his kind, and no amount of denial can change that fact.

Genesis 1:25-27
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said , Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Maybe I’m not the smartest tool in the shed, but I tend to read what I see, and with respect to God’s word believe it. Clearly it says here God made all the sundry creatures of the earth, and they brought forth after their kind.

Beast brought forth after their kind, cattle after cattle, fish, creeping things, and flying fowl all after their kind. Then the Godhead looked at each other and said, let us make a living entity whose pattern is the same as our kind of living entity who are in the godhead; make them after our likeness, and let us call them man. The result of Adam’s fall has had this singular effect upon us  such that when we read this account of the lofty origin of man, and it doesn’t even matter in what language, but when we read it, it doesn’t ever amount to saying that God created something that is like himself who is nothing other than God.

In his original state it is not a stretch to see where Adam might be here on earth one moment and the next might find occasion to be in heaven as did Jesus after he was raised from the dead.

One method we who have fallen form such lofty heights employ to ameliorate the shock to our system when we contemplate this possibility is rush to point out — ha, see, see, it’s little “g”—(god) so that is not exactly the same. God could not, would not have created something in his own league—I don’t care what the reading says.

We have a deceptive operative in our nature that does this denial loop not only in this instance, but also in so many other blatant examples of denials that you have to realize the truth of the word saying that the heart of man is deceitful and above all things, desperately wicked.

One of the hottest product on the market today for teaching reading skills to children who are barely old enough to speak is a program that makes image association with a word so that the combination cements in their mind the concept for that child and accelerates the process. Not only does God tell us all things, but also he shows them to us. He told us about Adam but he sent the model of the Last Adam to demonstrate the parameters of the first Adam. He was made like God; if you want to split hairs Adam was made and God wad not, but you wind up with two things that walked like, talked like, acted like and looked like. If we are talking about God in this instance I’ll settle for that any day of the week; and you can just keep on splitting hairs.

Not only did Jesus tell us that to do, but he showed us—showing and telling us…..and we still got it wrong; spinning out endless excuses as to why it is not so as God said. We still can’t even be honest enough to tell the difference between things we’ve no revelation on how to do, and what things are out of bounds for us to do. If we haven’t figured it out that is not the same as to say it isn’t God’s will for us to do it. God says who ever believe in me, all things are possible them, and they should do the things he proceeded to enumerate. He never said this or that one might not do this. When Joshua looked up to heaven and began to command the host of heaven, God’s jaws didn’t drop, and all heard this gasp of horror coming from him in revulsion at what Joshua did. His response was ….. it’s about time somebody stepped up to the mike, and made me proud. That’s the kind of son or daughter I’m looking for. Go Joshua, now it’s my turn to stone some of those guys from heaven; I bet I can take out more of them than you guys can.

All kind of epic weather has been visiting our country lately. The other day we had our turn. tornadoes never come to our city, but the warning went our. We saw what was happening as far away as Connecticut and was heading our way. Several tornadoes broke out and to my surprise these reporters would not go ahead and call them tornadoes, because the applicable government agency didn’t label it as such. Here was the thing right in front of them, doing what tornadoes do, and because the agency didn’t stamp it as such they wouldn’t call it such. There have been times preachers couldn’t preach unless governing agencies stamped them “approved”. Should we rather listen to God or men? Who is the authority here anyway? I am reading about what God both did and said, and a man is going to come and tell me you got it wrong. YEAH, I’ve got the change, and I am buying—NOT!

When we go to read our comprehension is skewed to see what we are told about the material we are reading; it is certainly skewed toward what the prevailing sentiments of the day embraces for truth. You may be unaware of the truth, but that is not going to stop the truth from being true; in this situation you are just going to continue to operate according to your human parameter limitations.

My wife’s background is in the Roman Catholic tradition. As I sought to compare our experiences I found it wasn’t the practice for her to have a Bible with her in church because they were dictated to as to whatever dogma was being posited by the leaders. My Protestant background though it was customary for all to have a Bible the effect amounted to the same net result. We actually don’t wind up believing what we read, but what we are told.
